Information

Seventy years ago, Bonifaas Luykx published a study on the origins of the Ordo missae that marked a decisive turning point in research on this subject. Over the following decades, numerous scholars enriched the field of study in this area and, at the same time, called for a new assessment of Luykx’s hypotheses. This volume offers, for the first time, an Italian translation of his contribution, accompanied by a careful revision and an updating of the footnotes. An extensive bibliography of studies on the classical Ordo missae and on the new Ordo missae provides students and scholars with a solid and up-to-date reference tool for further research.
