Adnotationes
Dear readers,
the column Adnotationes is here once again to share with you some informations about the life, activities and projects of our journal and of the Pontifical Institute of Liturgy.
Class A
On the 8th of May 2015, the National Agency for the Evaluation of Universities and Research Institutes communicated to us the good news that our journal had been placed in “Class A” of scientific reviews, within Area 11 dedicated to “historical, philosophical, pedagogical and psychological sciences”. Our journal is located in the A4 sector, which encompasses “Sciences of books and documents and historical-religious sciences”. The recognition of the journal by the agency is due to the “high specialisation and great renown of Ecclesia orans in the field of scientific liturgical studies on the international platform”. This academic appreciation is for us an encouragement to labour unceasingly at the service of liturgical science.
Activities of the Editorial Board
New Website in English
Our website (www.ecclesiaorans.com), regularly updated and accompanied by our twitter account (@Ecclesiaorans), offers a variety of information to keep you abreast of the activities of the journal, the content of the volumes, the activities of the editorial board, without forgetting news about events, especially those related to our Pontifical Institute of Liturgy.
Recently, we have opened a new web page in English to offer English-speaking readers and others the possibility to access the various contents of the site, such as editorials, indices of the volumes accompanied by the abstracts of the articles, indices of names, patristic sources, euchological formulae, magisterial documents and manuscripts. Book reviews published in every issue are also available on our website. All updates are systematically communicated and announced on our Twitter account @Ecclesiaorans. One of the novelties is our new QR code
A Token of Gratitude to Commander Ferdinando Cannicci
On 8th June, in the presence of the Abbot Primate Notker Wolf, the rector Fr. Juan Javier Flores and different academic authorities and lecturers of Sant’Anselmo, Dr. Ferdinando Cannicci was awarded, on the occasion of his retirement, the honour of Commander of the Papal Order of St. Gregory the Great.
As we put the finishing touches to the last issue of the Year 2015, it is incumbent upon our journal to express sincere gratitude to him who from the very beginning has been a hidden, efficient and sustained motor of the editorial board of Ecclesia orans. Dr. Ferdinando Cannicci (ca.fe, his fondest signature…) has in these 44 years played an irreplaceable role in various sectors of the academic life of the Ateneo of Sant’Anselmo, but more especially in the area of publications, serving as the Secretary of the journal Ecclesia orans. During these years, he dedicated himself completely and indefatigably, with singular availability, faithful and reliable memory and unflinching professional competence, to the verification and correction of texts, in close and faithful consultation with various authors, publishing houses, the teaching staff of the Ateneo and numerous collaborators of the journal. To him go our most sincere wishes for a well-deserved and fruitful rest, assured of his continued support, albeit in a different form.
Activities of PIL
The 10th International Congress of Liturgy, dedicated to the Liturgy of the Hours, with the theme “Carmina Laudis: risposta nel tempo all’eterno” (Carmina Laudis: Temporal Response to the Eternal), which took place from 6th to 8th May, 2015, was a great success both in terms of participation (more than 300 members) and on account of the high scientific level of the various interventions. The growing interest in this academic event is also clear from the increasing number of pre-orders of the Proceedings of the Congress (more than 250), which will be published in a new series associated with our journal Ecclesia orans. More information on this will be available soon.
